Everyone pays for their work, anywhere in the world

At Magnus Business Gifts we attach great importance to human rights. People need to know that a product they order from us is in order from A to Z. We do this based on our duty of corporate social responsibility.

At Magnus Business Gifts we check all suppliers without exception. They must be able to submit an audit report in which all conditions are met. This is how we ensure maximum transparency.

In this way we know whether the staff in supply companies have a contract, whether they can present a copy of their identity card, whether they comply with local legislation at all times…

High demands for people and the environment

The high demands are partly a result of experiences Ann Magnus had after her student days. In the company where Ann then started working, she saw the manager on duty treat both staff and customers badly. After those hallucinatory scenes, she decided she would do things differently.

Ann has been active in this sector for 18 years now. At PSI, the trade fair in Düsseldorf, she likes to exchange ideas with customers and suppliers. She naturally inquires about the price of products, but always goes a step further. She asks company managers how they deal with people and the environment. Ann wants quality guarantees from everyone we do business with.

Working on it every day

We therefore ask all suppliers if they can submit the necessary documents. This is the only way we can offer our customers guarantees. This concerns eco-labels and fair social conditions, such as the exclusion of child labour. Our suppliers have to work on it every day, in different ways.

Ann also challenges them. What are the terms of employment at suppliers? Do they check that in those factories themselves? Is there someone on site who keeps an eye on things?… We notice very quickly whether these are difficult questions, whether they are right in their shoes.

black list

Some suppliers cannot even give a warranty on power banks or USB sticks. They immediately end up on our black list: especially such a material requires guarantees for transporters, customers and workers. There are a lot of so-called price beaters on that black list: you should distrust them. We no longer order directly from Chinese companies: they even dare to make copies of certificates and forge them there.

We do this because we believe that you should be honest with all people. We don’t accept the idea that a garment worker only gets one percent of the T-shirt he woven. Everyone wants fair wages for their work: that should also apply to others, anywhere in the world.
