The textile sector is not always known as the most sustainable sector. But there are also exceptions. Good thing, too. Magnus Business Gifts, specialist in promotional and business gifts, chose Oeko-Tex® as the supplier of eco-textile. “They show that eco-thinking does not have to be accompanied by more expensive products,” says business manager Ann Magnus.
In doing so, Ann Magnus dispels the stigma attached to sustainable products. “Take the polos now. Whether the quality is the same? Definitely. And they are available in many cool colors. That used to be different.”
Market demands sustainable textiles
Ann Magnus notices that a change of mentality is taking place among the textile suppliers. “The demand from the market for sustainable textiles is of course responsible for the turnaround. I already talked about it a few times with Oeko-Tex®. They also asked us about our approach. From the beginning of this year we included their sustainable textiles in our range. Not only the polo shirts, but also t-shirts, sweaters and hoodies. They all received a certificate because they do not contain lead and chemical components, among other things.”

Companies can give their employees or relations a personalized sustainable garment as a gift. “Printing a logo or slogan is perfectly possible. Then you can use embroidery, transfer printing or screen printing. And not only on the front, but also on the back, sleeve or collar. You can order from 50 pieces. The mates? Betaalbaar ecotextiel in toffe kleuren
De textielsector staat niet altijd gekend als de meest duurzame sector. Maar er zijn ook uitzonderingen. Gelukkig maar. Magnus Business Gifts, specialist in promotie- en relatiegeschenken, koos Oeko-Tex® uit als leverancier van ecotextiel. “Zij laten zien dat ecodenken niet gepaard hoeft te gaan met duurdere producten”, vertelt zaakvoerder Ann Magnus.
Daarmee ontkracht Ann Magnus het stigma dat hangt boven duurzame producten. “Neem nu de polo’s. Of de kwaliteit hetzelfde is? Zeker en vast. En ze zijn verkrijgbaar in heel wat toffe kleuren. Dat is vroeger anders geweest.”
Markt vraagt duurzaam textiel
Ann Magnus merkt dat er een mentaliteitswijziging op gang komt bij de textielleveranciers. “De vraag van de markt naar duurzaam textiel zorgt natuurlijk voor de ommekeer. Ik sprak er al enkele keren over met Oeko-Tex®. Ze vroegen ons ook naar onze aanpak. Vanaf begin dit jaar namen we hun duurzaam textiel op in ons gamma. Niet alleen de polo’s, maar ook t-shirts, sweaters en hoodies. Ze kregen allemaal een certificaat omdat ze onder meer geen lood en chemische bestanddelen bevatten.”
Personaliseerbaar
Bedrijven kunnen hun werknemers of relaties een gepersonaliseerd duurzaam kledingstuk cadeau doen. “Een logo of slogan opdrukken is perfect mogelijk. Dan kan via borduren, transferdruk of zeefdruk. En niet alleen op de voorzijde, maar ook op de achterzijde, mouw of kraag. Bestellen kan vanaf 50 stuks. De maten? We hebben alle maten beschikbaar, zelfs XS en XXXL. Voor dames en heren!”
