Sponsoring a project is something every company should do. Magnus Business Gifts already chose 2, because supporting others makes us happy. And it fits in seamlessly with our commitment to corporate social responsibility. But then we want to put our shoulders behind something that we support 100%. This resulted in a great collaboration with Trees for the Future and Team Stuart. And we would like to highlight the latter.
Sponsorship: a well-thought-out, but above all intuitive choice
In recent years, the sponsorship budget of Magnus Business Gifts was fragmented over all kinds of charities. But as a sponsor you like to know what happens with your donations and that was not always the case in the past. That is why we have recently resolutely opted for a grouping of the sponsorship budget.
The first step was the selection of a project. A process that was mainly emotional. “I was looking for a project that is close to my heart and where I feel involved,” says Ann Magnus. “Team Stuart fits perfectly within that picture. In our family there is a great love for horses. Our horse is stabled in a stud farm and that’s where I met Barbara Minneci. Between the straw and the carrots we had a nice chat. The feeling was right right away.”

Meet Team Stuart
Barbara previously participated with Baba in the 2012, 2016 and 2020 Summer Paralympics, respectively in London, Rio and Tokyo. With result. In Japan they finished 4th in the freestyle test, 5th in the team test and 6th in the individual test. When Baba was allowed to retire, Barbara found a new loyal partner in Stuart. They are currently preparing for the 2024 Paralympics in Paris. Ann Magnus: “It is a beautiful story, both at top sport level and in terms of the beautiful collaboration between humans and animals. Stuart and Barbara have respect for each other, you can feel that in every fiber when you look at them.”
What convinced her to sponsor Team Stuart? “I immediately fell for the look and gentleness of Stuart,” continues Ann Magnus. “Combine that with the willpower that Barbara exudes and you know you have a golden team in front of you. That’s why after our first meeting I googled. Curious about the story behind Team Stuart, but also about how the Paralympics work. I immediately felt a connection from female entrepreneurship, so my decision to support them was not long in coming.”
Since then, Magnus donates a nice amount to Team Stuart every year. An excellent team that humbly toils to be at the top. After all, it takes a lot of energy, but also the right environment to do top sport. It’s not all glamour. It’s hard work. And then an extra push in the back can make all the difference.
